When China Is Losing, They Swear The "F___" Word To Win The Game!

South Korea plans to pursue a formal complaint in response to a Chinese Olympian who was heard repeatedly swearing during a badminton match between the two nations. 

Chen Qingchen, 24, could be heard shouting a popular Chinese slang term, translated loosely as "f**k"​ in Mandarin, throughout the live televised broadcast of her women's doubles match against South Korea on Tuesday, July 27.

Chen was heard first yelling the phrase after she and her partner, Jia Yifan, lost the first set to their South Korean opponents.

Chen and her teammate Jia Yifan lost the first set to Kim So-yeong and Kong Hee-yong. At 1-0 down, Chen first said the word, which is roughly equivalent to "f---" in English.

The Chinese doubles team then mounted a comeback and won the match two sets to one. But for every point won in the successful second and third sets, both Chen and Jia would celebrate by shouting the swear word.

Chinese social-media site akin to Twitter, the swearing was "self-encouragement."

The swearing, considered more light-hearted in China than the English version of the word, was met with amusement on Weibo.
