Cristiano Ronaldo Might Go To Manchester City By This Week!

Manchester City could turn their attention towards Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo following Harry Kane's announcement he is staying at Tottenham Hotspur

And as rumours intensify about a potential last minute move for Ronaldo, it is important to remember the history between Pep Guardiola and the Portuguese star. 

Ronaldo and Guardiola have been rivals for many years whilst the pair of them were at Barcelona and Real Madrid meaning they know each other well.

They have encountered each other throughout the years, including a snub from Guardiola during the 2013 Ballon D'or ceremony. 

But despite the rivalry, Guardiola has often admired Cristiano Ronaldo and has spoken about his admiration for the player on several occasions.

The MEN have compiled some of Guardiola's most significant remarks regarding the former Manchester United attacker.

However, Guardiola also praised Real Madrid's revival in Ronaldo's absence.

"Ronaldo, like Messi, is a guy who scores 50 or 60 goals a season," said Guardiola.

"Any team can suffer a little bit if they leave. But it is now their second season without him and Madrid are playing at a good level.

"I have seen their games and there are things they did not do before. They press forward and they don't wait.

"They are incredibly aggressive with the quality of the players they have."

Ahead of Manchester City's Champions League tie with Porto last year, Guardiola was asked to comment on the Portugal national team and Portuguese football.

The Manchester City coach was quick to speak of his admiration for Portuguese players before he went onto laud Cristiano Ronaldo as one of the greatest of all time.

"I'm lucky to enjoy the Portuguese players in the club. I was made with Portuguese players like Luis Figo and Fernando Couto at Barcelona and all of them were incredible professional and incredibly talented players.
